O is for Octopus!!

Friday, September 28, we had cooking class!! We have been learning about animals from A to Z… and we focused on the letter O today in cooking! The students got to observe a hot dog that had been cut into 8 little strips (tentacles) and watched as the hot dog expanded. This expansion made the hot dog look like a O… O... OCTOPUS!! The kids got to enjoy their hotdog/octopus with ketchup and mustard!! The following are pictures from our cooking class!

Marvelous Me Visitor: Mrs. Garrett

Sloan's mom, Noel Garrett who is also our room mom came to our class and talked to us about how she use to be a pharmaceutical rep and now she is a stay at home mom! She explained to the class that she use to go to the doctor's office and give them samples of the medicines they were selling! She brought the class gloves, masks, stickers, highlighters, cookies and more! The kids had a blast learning about everything Mrs. Garrett use to do as a pharmaceutical rep! :)

Alliebird's Visit!!!

This past weekend, Simeon got to take Alliebird home with him! Alliebird went to a snow cone stand, and even got to go to Chuck E Cheese with Simeon!! I'm sure Alliebird had a blast!

Marvelous Me: Sloan

This week our Marvelous Me is Sloan! Today the class got to hear Sloan tell us about all his pictures on his board.. Sloan told us that he loves Lego Land and playing golf!!! Sloan also has a birthday coming up this week :)

Marvelous Me: Simeon!!

This week's marvelous me was Simeon!! Simeon's mom came to our class on Wednesday and talked about her job and how she works with human hearts! The kids got to see how a heart works, what your heartbeat should sound like and also hear their own hearts through a stethoscope!! At the end, Mrs. Garner gave the kids heart sugar cookies!! Yummy!

Cooking Class: H is for Hamburger

Today our class had another cooking class!! Our letter of the week is "H" so the students had to put on their imagination hats on, and pretend like they were making hamburgers!! The hamburgers were made out of vanilla wafers, icing, and bananas!! Here are some pictures of our students enjoying cooking class :)

Kindergarten got to go to chapel today where we had a SCS Prep Rally!! The students loved watching the varsity football players, varsity cheerleaders, dance team, drum line, and the jr. high cheerleaders!!

Today we had our first BIG BUDDIES lunch!! This morning our class wrote cards to their big buddies and during lunch they exchanged letters!! All day long the students asked when they could see their big buddies (it was rather cute)!! Hot outside but so worth it :)
