Super Scientist Simeon!!
Today, our Super Scientist was Simeon! Simeon did an excellent job with his experiment. Simeon told the class the materials he needed! He needed a bowl full of water, a cup and a paper towel. Simeon put the paper towel in the cup and then proceeded to put the cup in the water!! Did the paper towel get wet inside the cup? All the students thought that the paper would be wet... but when Simeon showed the class the paper was DRY!! The cup created a suction around the water which allowed the paper towel to remain dry! Awesome job Scientist Simeon!!
Happy Birthday Molly!!
Molly's birthday was February 26 and our class celebrated with starting the day with donuts (thanks to Molly's mom!) Molly even got to have her parents come and eat with her during lunch! Our class thought it would be fun to read 'Happy Birthday To You' by Dr. Seuss since this week we are celebrating Dr. Seuss!

Super Scientist: Karsen
Our Super Scientist this week was Karsen!! She did an awesome job showing the class what happens when you put soap in a plate of milk with food coloring! What do you think happens? Some of our students thought it would make a rainbow!! When Karsen put the q-tip in the milk (with drops of food coloring) the colors spread! AWESOME JOB KARSEN!

Super Scientist Elena!!!
Our Super Star Scientist this week was Elena!! She did a great experiment that used baking soda, vinegar, and a bottle. Elena told us step by step what to do to make the balloon fill up with "air." Elena first put baking soda in the balloon. Then she put vinegar in a water bottle. Next, she put the balloon filled with baking soda over the top of the bottle. When the baking soda touched the vinegar it created carbon dioxide that made the balloon inflate!! GREAT JOB ELENA!! :)
